Right now, this program is focusing on providing rides to health and medical appointments for those who are homeless in in Yellowknife. This program runs Monday - Thursday, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm. Our staff end their shift at 3:30 pm at the latest so our last appointment time we are able to support is 2:30 pm. This program is for people aged 18+ who are homelessness or at risk of homelessness in Yellowknife.

The purpose of this program is to:
Reduce barriers to healthcare.
Help people attend appointments they might otherwise miss in Yellowknife.
Provide transportation, accompaniment, and support.
Improve health outcomes through reliable access to care.
Reduce the strain and cost on the healthcare system from missed appointments.
Who Can Use the Program?

Eligibility:
Adults aged 18+
Residents of Yellowknife
Individuals experiencing barriers to attending medical or health appointments
Specifically for people experiencing homelessness or housing instability
We do not have a vehicle that can accommodate wheelchair users, so if you are if need of this please contact a cab or the YATS bus
Booking
Booking
Book at least 3 business days in advance whenever possible.
Requests accepted up to 24 days ahead, but short-notice requests considered based on availability.
All bookings require confirmation by YK Street Support Network.
We will confirm the appointment asap after receiving the request.
We will re-confirm the appointment 1 hour before via a phone call.

We can support with appointments that are between 8:30 am and 2:30 pm Monday - Thursday
Our staff are off shift by 3:30 pm, so we cannot accommodate any pick ups after appointments if they are after that time
